Just over 4 months
BRIEFLY DESCRIBE WHAT YOU DO
I look after all aspects of marketing here at Vertically Urban. If you see, hear or read something about us it’ll have crossed my desk at some point. Ultimately my job is to make sure as many people as possible hear about us and the amazing products we manufacture!
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB?
Getting to meet and work with so many amazing people who are incredibly passionate about what they do and learning from them about the wonderful world of Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA).
HOW DID YOU END UP HERE?
Alongside 8 years of marketing experience, I have both a scientific background and a passion for (theatrical) lighting design, so the role jumped out when I saw it as an intriguing blend of those interests and skills.
IS THERE A COMMON QUESTION/MISCONCEPTION THAT YOU HEAR THAT YOU’D LIKE TO TACKLE HERE?
There are a few, but the thing I’ve had to explain most to friends and family since starting in the industry is that hydroponics and vertical farms are used to grow far more than just Marijuana!
WHAT MAKES YOU EXCITED ABOUT THE FUTURE OF CEA?
It has the potential to help solve so many issues the world is facing regarding food supply, both now and as we look to the future.

Red Hot Poker (Kniphofia).
COFFEE OR TEA?
Either is good. Just milk in tea, milk and one in coffee.

I want to tick off a few more European cities so I reckon Vienna may be next on the list.

Judi Dench and David Attenborough! I bet they’ve got some stories to tell between them that’d come out after a few drinks!
