HOW LONG HAVE YOU WORKED FOR THE COMPANY?
Just over 1 year.
BRIEFLY DESCRIBE WHAT YOU DO
My role is to create and implement the sales strategy for existing and new markets. To develop market intelligence to help the business create the correct products that will lead the market.
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB?
The people and the technology and the interesting markets we work in.
HOW DID YOU END UP HERE?
I have known the founder for over 25 years, we started out in electronics together. We started chatting a couple of years ago and I felt the opportunity and the challenge was too good to be missed and so I agreed to come and work for him.
IS THERE A COMMON QUESTION THAT YOU HEAR THAT YOU’D LIKE TO TACKLE HERE?
What is the best Spectrum? My answer, it depends on what you are wanting to grow and what your ultimate aim with the crop is. (Yield, biomass, taste, appearance, nutrition, etc.)
WHAT MAKES YOU EXCITED ABOUT THE FUTURE OF CEA?
I believe in its own way it will help us all to develop food security and reduce the amount of greenhouse gases that are produced from conventional agriculture, we can and should be growing food in a sustainable way that reduces are reliance on fertiliser/pesticides and water.

Marigolds (Tagetes), they bring great colour to my garden.

Tea, just milk.

Hawaii.
WHAT’S THE COOLEST THING ABOUT YOUR JOB?
All the different parts of agriculture that I get to see, and all the clever people developing new tech for the sector.
WHICH 2 CURRENTLY LIVING FAMOUS PEOPLE WOULD YOU LIKE TO INVITE TO A DINNER PARTY AND WHY?
Bill gates as I think he would have so many great stories about the advancement of technology. Second would probably be The Queen…I have no other way of ever being able to have dinner with her, so why not?! I bet she’s got a tale or 2 as well!
